Digital Answering Machines

I have set it up according to the directions and the diagram. There is a dial tone on the line and I can call out. I have not changed anything else. It’s not a cordless phone. What could be the problem?

or is the battery for the handset only and the answering machine just works from being plugged in the wall that way without the battery, i got this new phone yesterday so there is a first time for everything i know that, but i have a feeling the battery is for both parts, can you help me get to know my new cordless phone or should i learn all by myself little by little the does and don’ts?

2 handsets, or one main handset with base and ability to add another handset
Caller ID and speakerphone capabilities in the handsets

Just when I think I have found "the one" I see it has an answering machine – I DON’T WANT THAT

I have a corldess phone set with all of these features but it is a 2.4 Ghz and I would like to upgrade to 5.8 / 6.0.

Know of any?

I know, read the manual. I would, but the kid used it for a sketch pad, & it got thrown out. Same kid somehow switched the machine from English to Spanish… anyone have a GE 5.8ghz Digital Messaging System, with the cordless phone, that can help me? I figured out how to reset the date & time, & have learned the days of the week in Spanish now. ;p Not interested in learning more Spanish at this time, just would like to hear in English what time my Mom called to whine about her co workers.

I have to buy a new cordless phone with digital answering machine. What is a good dependable and inexpensive way to go? And I’d like to get one that has the extra phone that only needs an electical outlet. Many thanks.

I have a corded phone with a digital answering machine and a separate cordless phone (combo). The cordless phone quit. Would a separate self-contained cordless phone work with the corded phone, instead of having to buy another complete phone combo?

I have a cordless phone that has one built in and have had a lot of interference when using it. I had originally thought it was because I live in an an apartment building and the noises may come from being close to others with similar phones.

But, I just bought a new corded phone with the built in answering machine and it seems to be very hard to hear to on – sounds seemed muffled. Has anyone else had problems with them? Is it best to buy them separate?
The cordless phone is a VTech and the new one I bought is GE (cost around ). I have used VTech in the past and didn’t have a problem out of that particular one, but this one has been terrible.
