i got my step dads cell phone because he passed away i dont have the manual and i want to set a different message on my cell phones answering machine
I have a GE home phone and I am not sure how to set up my answering machine I don’t have the packet unfortunately that comes with the phone and can’t find anything on the internet.
When someone calls the voice mail will say leave your message for the # kind of like cell phones but when when I hit "play" my messages they are never there. I have also tried calling from my cell and leaving a message it doesn’t work. I really need to get it set up but don’t know how?

just wondering if anyone has the phone service that concast offers?
we have at&t, but my husband wants to have everything bundled into one bill each month and wants to sign up for the comcast digital voice phone.
if you have the phone service, is it good? can you use an answering machine with it? (i know they have that stupid voice mail option, but we have cell phones with voice mails, and perfer an answering machine with our home phone), and do you get a regular phone number or is it some 800#?

You go to work and there were no computers. On your desk was a regular telephone and a typewriter.
You come home, but the car you’re drving in has a regular radio, but no cd player. And you have to roll you window down by hand.
You come home and your TV is just a regular TV.
And you refigerator has ice trays in it. NO ICE MAKER.
The issue is that I have VoipVoip, which as of now only has number caller ID (without the name). I was hoping that there would be an answering machine with caller ID and a programmable phonebook that could match the caller ID number of the person calling with the name of the same number in the phonebook. Most cell phones do this automatically (as there is no directory for cell phone numbers). This is a weird question, but I am hoping that there will be someone else out there in this great big network of intertubes that has had the same problem, and successfully resolved it.
