I am trying to purchase a stand alone answering machine plus caller ID which has a remote access function that would allow me to receive voice messages PLUS all missed calls (who did not actually leave a voice message) all remotely from a different number. I have looked at a lot of systems but could not find anything within a reasonable price range that has all the above capabilities. Now I understand we can have a voice mail from phone companies but that’s not the answer I am looking for.
i guess i have brain lock but i am wondering if i can get caller id with a purchased answering machine or i have to have it activated through the phone company for it to show up on an answering machine ya know the actual number to come up on an lcd screen machine as well. i know i can recieve messages but with all the things phone companies offer i don’t know what all i can get
Like in voicemail caller id is with the message, which will give you an option of calling back the user of the caller id.
my answering machine shows the correct date…but caller id says the correct date but the wrong day of the week…i.e. yesterday 2/16/08 was saturday…my caller id said it was friday.
the caller id doesn’t work and I cannot make calls, I’ve had this problem for two phones
how do i fix this? without buying a new phone?

i just bought a 40 channel 2.4 GHz call waiting caller ID cordless dual handset telephone/answering system. i can’t get the answering machine to register a call or a message. i have follwed the instructions in the users’ guide. but when i call from my cell phone and leave a message, it is not registered on the machine
I just got DSL and bought my own phone filter from Radio Shack. I have the DSL computer on it’s own outlet jack.
On the other outlet jack I placed the filter, this is where I have my phone—that is connected to the answering machine—that is connected to the caller ID box. The phone works fine, and the ID works fine, but my answering machine will not trigger with incoming calls.
Do I need another filter (DSL micro filter) just for that machine??
